Jaman Lloyd
Jaman Lloyd is a Canadian Writer and Director who majored in History and Dramaturgy at the University of British Columbia.
In 2006, Jaman wrote and directed The Critic which screened in competition at the Crazy 8’s Film Festival and the Victoria Film and Television Festival. Jaman also wrote and produced the series The Night Owl for CiTR Radio in this time frame.
In 2007, Jaman was commissioned by Carrie Wheeler Films to write a feature adaptation of Kelly Braffet’s novel, Josie and Jack, with the support of Telefilm Canada.
In the same year, Jaman was selected to audition for Steven Spielberg’s On the Lot, and won Best Picture, Director and Writer for Cleaning up the Dead in the M.A.D. Film Festival.
In 2008, Jaman was commissioned by Warner Brothers/Thunder Road to write a series based on one of their DC Comics and Directed the pilot episode for the lifestyle series, Eco Chic TV. Jaman went on to direct 22 webisodes for Eco Chic TV in the following season.
In 2009, Jaman was hired as story editor on the feature, The Praying Mantis, with the support of Telefilm Canada. He also wrote and directed Orfeo Descending, an Italian operatic piece based on the Greek tragedy of Orfeo ed Euridice starring Apollonia Vanova, distributed through Bravo and Air Canada.
In 2010, Jaman was one of only 7 writers to be chosen by Telefilm Canada to be included in their directory of pre-approved Scriptwriting Consultants in Vancouver, BC.
Jaman is currently developing several feature screenplays, television series and dramatic radio scripts.
ORFEO DESCENDING, A twist on the classic Greek tragedy of Orpheus and Euripides and filmed in the time of one Aria and one Recitative from Gluck’s opera.
