Carrie Wheeler Entertainment Group talent has been turning up the heat this fall-into-winter with bookings all across the board!  Some of the season’s highlights below:

ELISE GATIEN’s deserving break came with this Breaking News: TOWER PREP, the dramatic live-action series has just been picked up by Time Warner / Turner Broadcasting’s Cartoon Network.  Elise plays the Lead role of CJ and is the only Canadian in a series lead role.  Elise filmed the pilot Summer 09 with the series going into production March 2010.  For the Hollywood Reporter announcement click here.

Elise also booked the Recurring Guest Star role of Mia on SMALLVILLE based on on the DC Comics character of Speedy.  She kicks serious butt as a martial arts/fight club expert/bad girl possibly going good…you’ll have to tune in to find out!

KERRY JAMES is back in the saddle for another season of HEARTLAND. Kerry is the hunky heart-throb who plays Caleb Odell. Watch episodes from Season 3 online here.

During hiatus, Kerry kept busy shooting THE BOY WHO CRIED WEREWOLF opposite Brooke Shields, a Guest Star role on THE TROOP as well SUPERNATURAL and STARGATE: UNIVERSE.

MICHAEL KARL RICHARDS took a break from his Recurring role as Major Peterson on STARGATE: UNIVERSE to shoot the role of Wil Delgado in this season’s epic end-of-the-world Roland Emmerich blockbuster, 2012.

LIAM SPROULE is enjoying success with his first booking out of film school as the Recurring Guest Star role of Keon Gatwick on CAPRICA which MAGGIE MA is also enjoying success on.

BRALEIGH NELSON revelled working opposite “The Hoff” in her role on DANCING NINJA while LUKE VASSEY stars in the Lead role on TAKE IT EASY.

PETER GRASSO, JASON BAX and SUSIE LEE have all booked roles on the J.J. Abrams’ series, FRINGE.

The lovely Miss Sadie Kime has tied the knot and is now even lovelier as Mrs. SADIE SILCOCK.  Sadie is the host of the online series, ECO CHIC TV.  View all of the episodes here.

Sexy nu jazz & soul singer, LEAH DAY, will steal the stage with her performance of her hit song, ‘Double Barrel’, and other original material December 20th at The Backstage Lounge.

Writer / Director JAMAN LLOYD was awarded coveted funding and distribution through BRAVO! for his short film, ORFEO DESCENDING, based on Gluck’s opera, Orfeo Ed Euridice.  Completion is expected in January, in the meantime, his award-winning short film, THE CRITIC, can be viewed here.

Carrie Wheeler Entertainment Group was proud to have secured the *agency exclusive* for KERSH at Vancouver Fashion Week.  Our guys and gals great gams also graced the runways for HOLT RENFREW / URBAN RUSH, WEAR ELSE (another agency exclusive!), BC FASHION WEEK, ASHIA MODE, MAC, AI, BLUSH BRIDAL, PRET-A-POUR-TEA, and THE BAY.

KATELYN ANTROBUS is a total babe as the face of fab designer JASON MATLO’s newest campaign, ‘BABE’.  Our gorgeous models also did print campaigns for BLACK ORCHID, EIKOWADA, AG HAIR COSMETICS, STRING MAGAZINE, VANCOUVER FASHION E-ZINE, BC FASHION WEEK MAGAZINE, MINI BODEN and BC HYDRO.

Internationally, MADI ROSS went from her contract in Bangkok booking major campaigns and commercials to her current contract in Tokyo with the print jobs pouring in…she loves it!

TARA WILKINSON, placed with WILHELMINA in the US has been enjoying success in Miami and is now back home in Vancouver for a brief rest before heading to Los Angeles for pilot season.

Coinciding with the release of the 2009 BCBusiness Style Issue, and their inaugural Online Style Guide, some 300 stylish businesswomen attended the fashion event of the season. The runway show displayed the spicy fall fashions of the Vancouver clothier Wear Else with models exclusively from Carrie Wheeler Entertainment Group. Over cocktails and canapes at the Century Plaza, attendees listened to style advice from local image consultant Giovanni Amenta.

ELISE GATIEN CAST AS “CJ” ON TOWER PREP

Elise Gatien is quickly becoming one of Hollywood’s most exciting and engaging young talents.

Elise has been cast in Cartoon Network’s TOWER PREP (working title), a live-action one-hour pilot written and being executive produced by Paul Dini (”Lost,” “Batman Beyond”).  Elise will play an intelligent and confident prep school rebel named CJ who has no memories of her life prior to attending Tower Prep - a mysterious boarding school for troubled kids who need focus and discipline.

During their casting search, Elise impressed the network executives with her outstanding audition tape from Canada. After auditioning and testing girls in Los Angeles, the executives decided to offer Elise the lead role of “C.J.” without ever meeting her in person.

Elise’s credits include roles on Sci-Fi’s “Eureka,” NBC’s “Bionic Woman,” Lifetime’s “The Obsession,” Fox’s “Dr. Doolittle: Tail to the Chief,”  CTV’s “The Guard” and Warner Bros’ “In the Land of Women.”

Beginning her performing career at age 4, Elise has trained in ballet, tap, jazz, and musical theatre.  She was later discovered by her agent at a model/talent convention and quickly booked commercials, a modeling contract in Asia and then moved into television and film.

Born in Kamloops, British Columbia, Elise enjoys boating, snowboarding, and traveling (most recently to Thailand, Bali, and Australia).

CARTOON NETWORK ANNOUNCES CAST FOR TOWER PREP

First Live-Action Series Pilot for Cartoon Network written by Paul Dini

Cartoon Network has announced casting for the live-action scripted pilot Tower Prep (working title). Production on the network’s first hour-long live-action drama is slated to begin this August in Vancouver, Canada.

Tower Prep (working title) tells the story of a rebellious teen, Ian (Drew Van Acker), who wakes up one morning to find himself trapped at a mysterious prep school that offers no escape. He forms a secret group with CJ (Elise Gatien), Gabe (Ryan Pinkston) and Suki (Dyana Liu), intent on discovering what they’re being trained for and how to escape. The pilot is executive-produced and written by Paul Dini (Lost, Batman Beyond), with Terry McDonough (Breaking Bad, The Street) signed on to direct.

Performer, (and amazing snowboarder!), CHRIS FAIRCLOUGH filmed in the B.C. wilderness, flown in by helicopter to the top of a remote glacier, then snowboarded a steep vertical with a tray of beer for the recent COORS LIGHT beer commercial!  The shoot involved two helicopters, twelve snow mobiles, and a kitchen airlifted to the top of the glacier. An epic shoot with epic photos!

Currently in its fourth season, The CW network hit series SUPERNATURAL follows Sam (Jared Padalecki) and Dean Winchester (Jensen Ackles), brothers who hunt demons and other figures of the paranormal.

In the episode entitled “The Rapture”, Sam and Dean discover that an angel has possessed Claire McShane, played by SYDNEY IMBEAU.

At age 12, IMBEAU has filmed over 15 commercials including BARBIE, POLLY POCKET, ZIPLOC and DANNON YOGURT to name a few, and has already found success with her natural evolution into Television and Film.

Inspired by a high-profile Canadian legal battle, PLAYING FOR KEEPS is directed by Gary Harvey and tells the story of Vancouver sports groupie Nicole Alpern, who falls in love with married, pro basketball player Ty Rivers and becomes pregnant with his child.

When Ty decides he wants to be a full-time parent to his son, the two begin an emotional custody battle over Noah, played by DANTE ARIAS.  At the heart of the custody fight is the notion of whether or not Noah should be raised by the African-American family he resembles or his single, Canadian Caucasian mother.

DANTE is currently filming a Principal role in the FOX series DEFYING GRAVITY, and has several commercials to his credit as well.  At age 6 he has already built an impressive resume!

At the helm of the the busy Vancouver based Talent Management & Production company is President, Carrie Wheeler.
