While he threw in the towel to his hockey career to pursue an acting career, DYLAN PLAYFAIR is still scoring hat tricks with his back to back bookings on a music video for AJ WOODWORTH, the short film BEACHHEAD directed by Michael Bishop and, for the win, landed the Lead role of Trevor in the second installment of the GRAVE ENCOUNTERS franchise about a group of college film students who travel to a remote and abandoned hospital to investigate the circumstances behind “Grave Encounters,” a found footage film in which all the principal players, supposedly killed in the movie, have mysteriously disappeared in actuality. While Dylan has had to take the month off while shooting, he will resume his training in the full time program at Vancouver Acting School. Dylan signed with Carrie Wheeler on February 1st and he’s already on the fast track to success.
Although we were saddened to hear that the much-touted pilot THE SELECTION, which ELISE GATIEN landed the role of May Singer, was not picked up, you can catch Elise in the Guest Star role of Elizabeth Meade on the CW’s SECRET CIRCLE.
Also on SECRET CIRCLE this season is LEVI MEADEN in his debut on the small screen. Congratulations Levi!
Speaking of pilots, THE CULT (also the CW Network) was picked up where newcomer JUSTYN SHIPPELT booked his first tv role after just one month of signing with Carrie Wheeler Entertainment straight out of the full time program at VADA. Also watch for Justyn in the feature film GRAVE ENCOUNTERS 2 alongside fellow VADA grad, ALEX BARIMA. Alex booked the feature straight off of his first commercial booking for Verizon Wireless.
KAM BRAR booked his first Supporting Lead in the indie feature MAPLE HEART with LIAM SPROULE premiering on PRIMEVAL while DANTE ARIAS booked ANCHORING IN SEATTLE and KEIRA BALDWIN booked SMART COOKIES.
Currently shooting in the gorgeous city of Prague is TAYLOR HUI who landed the coveted campaign for Lux Body Care. Taylor is the new face of Lux appearing in international commercials and print campaign.
